NDIS is a government-funded program that provides support and services to individuals with disabilities to help them lead more independent and fulfilling lives.
To determine your eligibility for NDIS funding, you need to complete an access request form and undergo an assessment by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). The assessment will then consider your disability, its impact on your life and your support needs.
Eligibility for NDIS is based on several factors, including:
If you are unsure about your eligibility or have specific questions about your situation, we recommend contacting the NDIA directly or seek assistance from our support coordinator. We will guide you through the process and provide personalised advice based on your circumstances. To get in touch, please fill our form here
You will receive a copy of your NDIS plan from the NDIA once approved. The plan will outline the supports and services you are eligible for.
The plan will summarise your goals and needs as discussed during your plan meeting and will also contain basic information about your plan such as start and end dates.
The plan will also have review dates as to when your plan will be assessed and potentially adjusted to reflect changes in your needs and goals.
There are different ways your NDIS funding can be managed, and you can choose the method that suits you best:
Note: Regardless of funding management option you choose, you’ll need to keep records of services you receive, and expenses incurred; hence helping with reporting and accountability.
It is important to understand that NDIS funding is intended to empower individuals with disabilities to have greater choice and control over their supports and services.

The NDIS plan consists of different plan components and one of them is the core of your plan. It lists the supports and services.
Each goal, as discussed with your planner, is linked to specific supports and services. Those supports are categorized as Core Supports, Capital Supports, and Capacity Building Supports.
These are your everyday supports that help you with daily activities and living skills. They also include personal care, assistance with household tasks, transport, etc.…
These are more significant, one-time expenses that help you achieve your goals. It might include assistive technology (like wheelchairs), home modifications, and vehicle modifications.
CBS focus on developing your skills and abilities to become more independent and achieve your goals. They can also include therapy services, training and education.
Each support has a funding amount allocated to it and it’s usually listed as an annual budget. The plan will also specify how often and how long you can access a particular support.
Once you have engaged with a service provider, they will deliver the supports and services outlined in your plan.
