Social and Community Access

Social and Community Access and NDIS Participant

Social and community access for Reaching Sky means providing support to our participants with disabilities to participate in social and community activities. Some of the activities are: :

  • Attending social events, such as parties, concerts, and sporting events

  • Volunteering or participating in community groups

  • Joining sports teams or fitness classes

  • Taking classes or workshops

  • Socializing with friends and family

  • Accessing community services and resources

Such support is always customised based on the participant’s needs and goals. For example, some people may need assistance with transportation, while others may need assistance with finding and connecting with social and community activities.

The participants are financially supported by NDIS to help develop their social and community access. For example, funding may be available for therapy services, such as social skills training or group therapy, to help people learn how to interact with others and build relationships.

Social and community access is an important part of the NDIS because it helps people with disabilities to live full and meaningful lives. It also promotes inclusion, independence and a sense of belonging to our participants.

The team at Reaching Sky can help participants connect with others, participate in their community, and achieve their goals.
